Miss Emily Learning - High Frequency Words

This App has been created as an aid for your child to learn high frequency words (key words), as a key to improving their reading skills.

The App has 3 levels depending on the understanding of the child, words are added as the levels increase. These words are generated randomly and the user will hear each one as it is displayed.

The child can then trace the word to enhance their writing skills.

Although the English language contains many thousands of words, research has shown that just 16 words (a, and, he, I, in, is, it, my, of, that, the, then, to, was, went, with) make up a quarter of all the words in a typical text. and that a total of 100 words (including the 16 most common) represent half the words in a text. Learning these "high frequency words" can give your child a head start in learning to read.
